Child Support Representation
Child support is based on the income of both parents. This isn’t always as straightforward as it may seem. Self-employed parties, owners of small businesses, commission based income and other factors can make this a complicated matter. Providing health insurance, payment of college or other expenses may come into play. Attorney Carroll will work closely with you to sort out the facts, and determine a fair and accurate child support calculation.
Spousal Support (Alimony)
Spousal Support ensures the economic security of a spouse with a lower capacity to earn income, or who may suffer a diminished standard of living in the event of a divorce. Spousal Support may be determined by a number of factors, including the length of the marriage, needs of a party, ability to pay, employability as well as the age and health of the parties. Massachusetts law dictates that the duration of any award is relative to the length of the marriage—shorter marriages require a shorter length of time in which support is paid, or not at all. Attorney Carroll will be able to assess your case and your unique circumstances to advise you as to the amount and duration of any possible award of Spousal Support.
