Meet Colleen Carroll
I grew up in the Metro-west area, spending my summers on Cape Cod. My love for all things to do with the ocean brought me back to the South Shore where I make my home and serve clients from south of Boston to the tip of Cape Cod & the Islands.
I attended Assumption University and then Suffolk University Law School where I graduated with honors. Public service has always appealed to me, so it was with this in mind that I began my career at the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office, prosecuting misdemeanors and felonies in the District and Superior courts. Recognized for my work, I held leadership positions as lead prosecutor in the Plymouth, Wareham and Hingham District Courts as well as the Narcotics Prosecutor in the Brockton District Court. I left work each day knowing that I had truly made a difference in someone’s life.
I left the District Attorney’s office to pursue private practice, first at a venerable Boston law firm where I represented major corporations, trying cases in the District and Superior courts, including personal injury, product liability and property damages cases, then establishing my own law office more than 20 years ago.
I serve on the Board of Directors of the Plymouth County Bar Association. I am regularly appointed by the court as Conciliator to assist parties in resolving their family law matters. I have been recognized year after year for my volunteer work with the ARC and Lawyer of the Day program with the First Justices Award for Pro Bono Publico Excellence.
In my spare time, I am a competitive rower and can be found racing in regattas throughout New England, puttering in my garden or hanging out with my 2 rescue dogs, Finn and Gus.
”I hired Ms. Carroll to handle my divorce several years ago. This was perhaps the worst time of my life. I found Ms. Carroll to be kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and available to me at hours that were convenient and did not interfere with my work – I had a lot of bills in starting my new life, so maintaining my job was very important to me. Ms. Carroll explained her fees and I signed a detailed fee agreement so there were no surprises. All the work she performed for me was professional, timely and well done. She explained everything to me in a manner I could understand. In court, the judge obviously knew her, said I was “well represented” during our pretrial and he treated her with tremendous courtesy, which gave me a lot of confidence. Since my divorce, she has consulted with me to help with problems that have arisen, without charging me a cent. I would highly recommend this attorney to anyone and in fact have given her name to friends and family”
